Some of Open Doors for Paws rescued dogs & their stories
Our Newest Rescued Dogs.

This is Mojo - One of the newest members of our dog charity family. He will require a lot of physio, hydrotherapy, laser therapy and deep tissue massage. He has already gained some movement in his tail after 8 weeks of intensive work.
Mojo

Our newest family member, Sadie. Vet check tomorrow, get some weight on her and if all ok, maybe a foster home. Bichon x, approximately 11-13yr age rage. Beautiful little lady.

Jack, passed away. Nearly 18 yrs old. You came to us, with your friend Guiness 3+ years ago and you both fit in and flourished at ages 15 and 14. Your friend said goodbye, last year at a respectable age of 17. I was sad but to be honest, I think you scored as you could sleep anywhere you wanted then, instead of hanging with him as I think you wanted to sleep on my bed, which is where you slept every night since.
I will miss you dearly, my old friend. You are the perfect gentleman and secret player with the girls. Rest well, my little man, Jack. I love you now and always.

Rescues

Nepoleon (11) & Shadow (13) – Huskies
Came to Donna 3 yrs. ago from a friend of her son – needed emergency care as they were going to be put down as their owner could not care for them. Donna tried to rehome them but 2 dogs together is very hard to do.
Shadow has had surgery for cruitiate ligament – she loves swimming so recovered quickly.
Nepolean was diagnosed with necrosis of the pancreas along with peritonitis. He survived the surgery but sadly died 2 days later.

Benji (13) – toy poodle.
Benji came from one of Donna's grooming clients. His owner ended up in hospital and surrendered Benji to the vet as he has Cushing’s disease. Charlie at the vet rang Donna after 3 weeks & Donna took him in. He has been with her for 3 years. He has medication every morning or will die and is monitored with blood work every 3 months. It took 6 months to get his skin under control. He was quite aggressive at the beginning but now is very gentle. He has no teeth as he needed major dental work.
Emmie (13) – miniature poodle.
Emma was owned by a writer and left to Donna who promised to would look after her. She has very bad hips and bladder control issues and is on medication every second day.

Maxi (13) – Papillion Cross
Maxi had an eye removed in November. He has heart issues and is dealing with septic arthritis. He is not in any pain but requires constant medication. His owner is elderly and cannot care for him. Donna promised she would always care for him because of these issues.

Teddy (3) – poodle
Teddy was given up by his previous owner as aggressive. He would attack other dogs but now knows his position in the pecking order but will never be re-homed. He used to jump up at 6ft fence all day. His previous owners are now big supporters of Donna and her charity.
Blaney & Joan
Has been adopted.
